Happy New Year! Well, almost. Alyssa Raymond and I teamed up to bring you a delicious french toast bake that you can prep on New Years Eve. That way you can party all night and not worry about breakfast the next morning! We made sure to make it festive by including one of my favorite ingredients…BOURBON!
Maple Bourbon French Toast Bake
1 Loaf (12 slices ) Brioche Bread
1/4 Cup Whole Milk
1/4 Cup Heavy Cream
1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
4 Tbs Butter (Browned butter if you’ve got it!)
3 Tbs Bourbon
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray. Lay bread flat in dish. You should have at least two layers of bread.
In a large bowl whisk all other ingredients. Pour egg mixture over bread and cover with plastic wrap. Set in fridge for 1 hour up to overnight.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Remove dish from fridge and remove plastic wrap. Bake french toast, uncovered, for 30 minutes. It should come out bubbly and browned. The center of the french toast should not be under done!
Happy New Year! I hope you get to spend New Years Day relaxing with a cup of coffee and this delicious french toast!
