Apple & Brie Crostini
I can’t even begin to tell you how many variations of crostini I have made or imagined. Guys…it’s yummy food on top of toasted bread…HELLO!
It is really one of the most versatile options for any party because it can appease just about any palate. One of the best parts about crostini options is that they can have little to no cooking if you prefer it that way. Crostini can be your “easy” appetizer option.
That’s exactly what I did with this apple & brie crostini. The only thing I’m doing here is toasting bread. Now…let’s talk about this toasting bread business. I don’t know about you, but I’m terrible at it. Really. I am. I don’t have the patience for it. That’s why I always buy two loaves of baguettes when preparing for any client’s dinner party. I have learned my lesson!
Apple & Brie Crostini
Ingredients
- 1 loaf french baguette
- 1 4 oz Container of spreadable brie
- 1 Apple, Thinly Sliced
- 1 oz Honey
Instructions
- Begin by toasting your baguette. Preheat oven to the broil setting. Slice baguette into 1-inch thick slices. I like to slice mine at a diagonal. Place slices on a baking sheet, and drizzle with olive oil. Toast bread, checking it every 2 minutes. (Guys, I ALWAYS BURN THE BREAD! Babysit the mess out of that bread!) Remove bread from oven and flip it over. Drizzle more olive oil, put it back under the broiler, and BABYSIT IT! It’s so much better when both sides are toasted.
- Prepare your apple by coring it and slicing it thinly. I prefer using a mandolin to ensure they are all the same thinness.
- Spread a thin layer of brie onto your toasted crostini slice. Add one apple slice. Repeat these steps until you’ve filled your serving dish. Drizzle all crostini with honey.
- Serve immediately.
